plans

I can write a wide range of environmental plans tailored for rural and regional Councils, including Environment Management Plans, Climate Change Action Plans, specialty Environment Plans, Waste Management Plans or any other project you may need.

grants

Grant applications are a challenge for any Council, particularly rural Councils, and I can help prepare these based on successful grant applications for Council.  I wrote the only successful application from the Community Energy Upgrade Fund for a South Australian Council and the only Council in Australia to receive funding for LED street lighting. Other successful grants I prepared include a waste reduction grant from Green Industries and a landscaping grant from Green Adelaide for the Adelaide Lutheran Sports Club.

landfills

All Councils with a landfill or similar are required to report their totals of green waste, landfill and recycling. Knowing these figures is needed to claim back the costs of sending waste items to other waste facilities.

insurance and grants

Insurance companies will use inaction on climate change impacts in planning as a reason to increase premiums or refuse insurance coverage. And then possibly to reduce payouts of claims if your Council does not show consideration for climate change impacts.

There are examples of superannuation companies being sued because of a lack of climate change planning in their portfolios and asset management.

Similarly, a lack of climate change risk in planning could mean grant bodies are less likely to favour a Council for a grant. A climate change plan means you are prepared to manage your assets, regardless of the threat, just as you would for a potential threat from robbery, break-in, or fire.

I can help your Council or business complete their greenhouse gas reporting to fulfil your legislative obligations, or to understand what you are producing. From this, you can develop plans to reduce your emissions in the most cost-effective way available. Knowing these numbers and how to find them puts you in good stead into the future when this reporting becomes mandatory.
